Oh, Northern Haus! Where to even begin with you! A few years ago, my boyfriend (at the time) and I knew we wanted to get married in “our special place” of Door County. The only problem was, the perfect venue did not exist. Fast forward to 2019, and the venue of our dreams was born. After our engagement in 2021, the first part of our wedding we just knew was where it would be. We signed on the venue before even seeing it, and we are so happy we did. From that moment forward, Sara, Nick, and Megan have truly been a dream to work with. I’ve never met a more professional, kind, and helpful trio! From their superior preferred vendor list, to never ending accommodations, they made our wedding planning experience incredible from day one. I feel so lucky we were able to host our dream wedding at Northern House this past Memorial Day Weekend. Everything about the whole weekend was a dream come true, especially the venue. We enjoyed the most genuine and meaningful 30 minutes of our lives in the Forest Retreat…that is a part of the day we will cherish forever. Our guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside, followed by a beautiful reception inside. Every part of it was amazing, but the fact that we found a venue that truly had everything in one place was the Door County “cherry” on top of our special day. Sara, Nick, Megan, and Northern Haus…we just LOVE you! They have multiple weddings a season, a month, and a weekend, but they truly made us feel like their only bride & groom every step of the way. It was a feeling we will always cherish. Thank you for making our dreams come true!
What a beautiful setting for our wedding! I would highly recommend to anyone that wants a worry free picturesque wedding. Please use Sara as your day of coordinator. I had a couple of mishaps that seemed like nothing as she took care of everything.

From our initial planning meetings to the day of the event, they were professional, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of. Their expertise and experience were evident throughout the entire process, and they seamlessly handled everything, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy our wedding day. Whether outside or inside, the venue is the most perfect place to capture your special moments. We cannot recommend this venue enough!
Choosing to get married at Northern Haus in June of 2023 was the easiest decision we made after we got engaged. We cannot say enough great things about the venue, experience and amazing team. Sara, Nick and Megan went above and beyond in accommodating our vision and making it come to life. Throughout the planning process they were professional, attentive and so helpful in guiding our vision. When searching for a venue for our wedding, we were looking for something modern and neutral with a lot of natural light but also maintained the charm of Northern Door County we love so much. Northern Haus checked all of our boxes with the gorgeous minimal outdoor ceremony space, and a large high ceiling space to host our reception. We also love a built in 'plan b' ceremony space if the weather on our wedding day wasn't in our favor :) We were lucky enough to have Sara as our day of coordinator and she made the process easy which allowed us to truly enjoy planning but also feel like guests at our own wedding! During our planning process we utilized the carefully curated preferred vendor list which gave us a lot of amazing local vendor options to look into and help our wedding day come to life. We had a fabulous experience and getting married at Northern Haus was truly a dream. We cannot recommend this venue and team enough!
Northern Haus is the best!!! I could never accurately put into words how special this place is, but here goes nothing:
I grew up going to Door County each summer and always had a pipe dream of getting married here. When I got engaged in March 2022, I booked Northern Haus almost immediately without ever having seen it in person. There was something about its natural beauty that just made me know that it was where my husband and I were meant to get married.
I didn't actually see the venue in-person until the day before my wedding at my rehearsal, but you would have no idea because of the amazingly helpful owners, Sara and Nick, and staff, Megan, who helped you feel like a part of the Northern Haus family from the moment you first make contact with them. I worked with Sara and Megan extensively throughout the 16 or so months of my wedding planning, and they were the most knowledgeable, thoughtful, and patient people to work with. They helped me to understand the space, encouraged my ideas, and supported me through the millions of questions I had along the way. I also need to note how incredibly helpful Northern Haus’ preferred list of vendors is – I could not have planned our wedding from California without this list. We used so many of their preferred vendors and all of them exceeded our expectations!
On the day of the wedding, I would not have been able to be stress-free if it weren’t for Sara being my Day Of Coordinator. She felt like another friend to me that day – someone who was looking out for me and my happiness every step of the way. She also has an amazing ability to troubleshoot, but not involve you in anything that might cause you unnecessary stress. She made the day feel so incredibly smooth every step of the way. Some other highlights of the day included bar carts with beer and wine for our guests as they arrived for the ceremony, Sara’s truly unreal ability to read a weather forecast and figure out the perfect time for us to squeeze in our outdoor ceremony before it started to rain, the rainbow that came out after said rain (I know Northern Haus didn’t necessarily make the rainbow happen but also maybe they did? they’re that amazing), nonstop dancing during the reception, and so much more.
To put it simply, our wedding day was the best day of my life. I know people say this all the time, but I really feel that Northern Haus helped to ensure that it was the best day of my life. Sara, Nick, and Megan are all such amazing professionals who truly care about the happiness and success of their clients. If you are in search of truly a dream venue with the very best people, you can’t beat Northern Haus!
Northern Haus was truly the most beautiful spot for a wedding inside and outside. Every detail was immaculate. The views are breathtaking. Sara, Nick, Megan, and all the other staff were amazing to work with and made our day absolutely seamless. They made us feel special and made sure we enjoyed our day. Our experience there was one of a kind and we will never be able to thank them enough for the hosting us. They made our wedding dreams come true.
Words cannot even begin to describe how amazing our wedding day was at Northern Haus. Sara, Nick, Megan and the whole team were a blessing to work with! We would get married a million times if it meant we had the opportunity to work with them again. It was sincerely the best day of our lives, from the stunning venue, the kind team, to the amazing service. Everyone told me that wedding planning would be stressful, but they took the stress away, and the day went so smoothly! At no point during the planning process did I feel any sense of worry or doubt, as Sara and Megan were so communicative and helpful from day one. Northern Haus provides a preferred vendor list for clients, and after booking with several of them, it’s easy to see why they are preferred. We felt so taken care of on the day – all of the staff were constantly checking in on us. Megan was so sweet throughout the day, always making sure we felt at home. Nick and the bar team were talented mixologists and the drinks were phenomenal – the amount of trips made to the bar by our guests made it apparent. Todd, our golf cart driver went above and beyond for both us and our guests and made sure that we rode back to the reception area in comfort (and style!) after family photos. We received so many compliments on how hospitable the team was, how beautiful the venue was and how much our guests enjoyed the day. Not to mention how gorgeous the forest retreat was where we had our ceremony, so spacious yet intimate at the same time. If we could give more than 5 stars, we would! Thank you, Northern Haus!
My experience with Northern Haus throughout my two-year engagement was AMAZING! My husband and I not only had a productive time planning with Sara and Megan but a FUN time planning with them! The whole Northern Haus team is one of a kind, and if I could get married again, I would no doubt have it there. Sara was my day of coordinator, and I was the chillest, most relaxed bride my whole day because of her and her team. I was able to enjoy every moment and didn't have to worry about any of the details because she took care of everything. She was able to do a complete room flip from our ceremony to the reception, and once I saw that reveal, I balled my eyes out. Sara and her team were able to make my vision come to life. Having planned every detail over two years and seeing it all come together exactly how I wanted it to meant so much to me. I honestly can't recommend Northern Haus as a venue and Sara as a day of coordinator enough.
Our wedding day was simply the best day of our lives and Northern Haus was a huge part of that reason! Our day of coordinator, Megan, was an amazing help to make everything perfect! She always came by to check on us throughout the night. Sara and her husband are so kind and helped us during our day as well. We are so blessed that we got to spend our wedding day at this beautiful venue. Everything was absolutely perfect and we will always recommend anyone to get married here!
Sara and her team were very gracious hosts and the venue is one-of-a-kind in a beautiful area. Unlike anything else in Door County for a modern and luxury wedding experience. Our day was magical and exactly as we imagined!
Our wedding was 9/30/23 at Northern Haus and it was absolutely perfect, thanks to Sara and our day of coordinator, Megan. These ladies know how to plan a wedding!! I highly recommend the day of coordination service when planning a wedding here. They were accommodating, flexible, kind, and always one step ahead of me!

We got married at Northern Haus and we cannot even begin to explain how amazing the experience was (1000/10) and we cannot recommend it enough.
The venue itself is breathtaking. We booked our wedding date before we toured and it was even better in person. We were a little worried about our décor not being enough because we wanted something simple, but the venue is so beautiful on its own we never felt under-decorated.
We also cannot recommend having Sara as your day-of coordinator enough. She was immensely helpful, even during the planning stages. We planned everything ourselves and she was so kind and quick to answer any questions we had. She handled everything day-of flawlessly and kept even our most inattentive friends and family on schedule. She handled everything so we didn’t have to and we did not have to worry about a single thing because we knew it was in great hands. We had to move our wedding indoors the night before, but in the morning she even offered to do some extra work to reverse any work they had already done so that we could have our wedding outside as planned.
Sara and the Northern Haus staff were also extremely inclusive. We had a very non-traditional wedding as well as a non-traditional wedding party, so we were a little stressed about how things would work. Sara quickly adapted and even commented about using gender neutral language, which made more of an impact than she could have ever known for our wedding party members.
The Trolley is gorgeous and worth it if you are thinking about transportation for your day! :)
Nick, Sara, and the rest of the Northern Haus team took care of everything and made our day seamless - They even participated in our tik tok we were making. We got compliments all night long about every aspect of the venue. You cannot go wrong with choosing Northern Haus for your special day.

Incredible experience! From the very beginning at booking, Sara and her team at Northern Haus made the planning process easy and enjoyable. Being from out of town, it added an element of difficulty but Northern Haus answered every single question we had from the very beginning and made this the best experience ever! I would recommend working with Sara and Northern Haus a million times over!!
After touring Northern Haus & meeting with Sara & her husband, I knew that NH was “the one.” My fiancé was unable to tour the venue with me & did not see the venue until our wedding day. We truly could not have asked for a better place to have our wedding – it was absolutely perfect. The venue itself is stunning – the perfect blend of country meets modern-farmhouse-industrial-chic. The expansive property offers an intimate outdoor ceremony space; a beautiful back porch & yard for socializing, yard games, & a bonfire pit; and the natural beauty surrounding the venue is perfect for photos.
Sara was so wonderful to work with. She is very much a part of the community in Sister Bay & provided a list of recommended vendors to work with. Sara is extremely organized & responded to all of my questions/ concerns promptly, which is huge in terms of reducing the stress of planning a wedding from out of state. Sara was very willing to help with anything we needed to ensure our wedding day was perfect.
Both Sara & her husband were present at the venue throughout our day to ensure things ran smoothly, which truly meant a lot. At the same time, the staff & bartenders at NH were second to none – so kind & friendly to our guests. Our friends & family cannot say enough good things about Sara & her husband, the staff, & NH itself. It truly is a dream venue & we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to have their wedding in Door County.
We were originally going to have our wedding at Northern Haus in September of 2021 but due to covid (and me and my family being from Sweden), my family was not able to travel to the US so we had to postpone our wedding to June of 2022. Sara was very helpful and understanding with our situation. Throughout the whole planning process, Sara and the Northern Haus team was such a great resource. The preferred vendors were very friendly and great to work with, and it was very helpful that they knew the venue already so they all knew what to expect and could help make sure our vision came to life.
Having Sara as our day of coordinator was the best decision ever! She made sure our day flowed smoothly and made sure that my husband and I were at the right place at the right time. Thanks to Sara, we were able to enjoy our wedding day to the fullest and not have to worry about a thing. Having planned events and concerts in different capacities and different parts of the country for over 20 years, I’ve never hosted an event at a venue that was so thoughtfully and beautifully conceived and managed. We started our journey of wedding planning early on in our engagement. We both knew we wanted to get married in the intimate, beautiful and charming location of Door County. The hard part was finding the right fit in the venue, knowing that Door County has limited variety of updated & modern options. We came across the ad of Northern Haus and immediately was in love. We met with Sara & Nick in the very early stages of them building their venue, Northern Haus in 2019. With the space not being 100% complete we had complete trust in the vision for our date in 2021!! We were correct! Our vision was perfect and that came with the help of Sara & Nick at Northern Haus. We had a long engagement and Sara was constantly in response to all of our questions as planning move forward. Nick was always welcoming to us when we wanted to view the grounds multiple times before the big day. We could not say more amazing things about the beauty, style and variety that Northern Haus provides. This space comes with unlimited vision for any style couple, but comes with even better people on the inside to help your dream day to become a reality!! When my fiancé and I started to look for a wedding venue in 2019, we knew the moment we saw Northern Haus that we had to get married there. Our 2020 date was postponed, but Sara made it easy. She handled the pandemic with such grace and so much kindness. During the planning process, communication was always timely and complete with Sara who perfectly balances professionalism and personal touch. We were finally able to hold our wedding in May of 2021 and it was worth the wait – something we were not always sure of after planning for twice as long as we had hoped. Sara was my Day of Coordinator, which I truly could not have done without. She is meticulous, hardworking, organized, calm, and gracious. Our night ended with an incredible, over-the-top guided wine and scotch tasting that Northern Haus put together for us. My fiancé and I truly would not change a single moment of our day, and we have Sara and Nick to thank for every bit of it!
