Northern Haus was the perfect backdrop for the wedding of our dreams. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but Northern Haus helped reduce our stress by providing a list of preferred vendors, making it possible to design our perfect day without a wedding planner. The Northern Haus team was incredible throughout the entire process, answering every question, no matter how small or specific. Sara is an expert host and business person; she leads with grace, clarity, and warmth while helping couples prioritize what truly matters to them. On our wedding day, we felt at ease with Megan as our day of coordinator, who anticipated many of our needs. Megan was an absolute delight- so professional, friendly, communicative and calm. We cannot recommend the day of coordination services enough! We were able to fully enjoy our day knowing the Northern Haus team had us covered.
The venue itself is stunning, the perfect blank canvas. The prep quarters and luxury suite were well equipped for getting ready. We got married in the forest retreat, an enchanting space that looks like something out of a fairy tale. So many of our guests raved about the setting, noting it added an extra bit of magic to our ceremony. The outdoor cocktail hour was fun and festive, followed by the perfect indoor reception. The sizable dance floor accommodated over 180 guests lending itself to an absolutely epic dance party. We can’t thank Northern Haus enough for helping our wedding dreams come to life!

Where to even begin?! We had an absolutely flawless wedding day thanks to Sara, the owner, our day of coordinator, Megan, and the entire staff at Northern Haus. Truly, there was not one detail unaccounted for by their team, and we felt so well taken care of the entire day. Beyond just the wedding day itself, the communication and professional were top tier from the first time toured the venue all the way through the days following the wedding. The venue, the grounds, and the amenities are breathtaking. If I could give Northern Haus 1000 stars, I would. Door County holds such a special place in my husband and I’s hearts and from the day we got engaged we knew we wanted to get married at the Northern Haus. From the first initial tour to our wedding day we fell more and more in love with the venue and the people. Sara and Megan went above and beyond to make sure that our day was absolutely perfect for us and helped us through every step of the wedding planning process. Hiring them as our day of coordinators was one of the best decisions we made, helping take so much stress of my husband and I’s plates, from set up the day of to constantly checking in on both of us to make sure we didn’t need anything throughout the busy day. Our family and friends were simply in awe of the ceremony location and reception space, every aspect of the venue is stunning and we will never regret choosing to get married at the Northern Haus. Northern Haus provides the most perfect backdrop for the most beautiful photos. Nick was incredible behind the bar and all of our guests raved about him and the fast bar service. The professionalism, level of expertise and attention to detail at the Northern Haus is unmatched. I feel like I have been waiting two years to write this review with how much I love Northern Haus and how excited we were to have our wedding there. Ever since the day we first toured back in 2022, to the day of our wedding, last Saturday August 24th, 2024, Sara, Nick, and Megan were absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. From our initial meeting and touring of the venue, to the countless calls and emails during the planning process, to the day of coordination, we were always given outstanding service, professionalism, friendliness, and quick responses.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning! You can easily pair your wedding vision with the white barn, vaulted ceilings, and luxurious accommodations. It truly shines when you pull up the front walk, continue through the foyer, to the reception hall, to the gorgeous bar, to the covered porch, all the way up to the ceremony space - so beautiful. Every single detail was thought of and nothing went unnoticed when Sara and Nick built the venue. We had seen the venue being built years ago and could only hope that our wedding could some day be hosted here, and once we pulled up for that first tour, we looked at each other and knew it was the one!
Sara was our day of coordinator and I cannot emphasize enough how incredible she made our day. As the bride who planned literally the entire day and every detail, I did not have one single worry with having Sara and her team in charge. If anything went wrong at all, I had no idea and that is exactly how it should be. The day was smooth, seamless, beautiful, and so well executed, I was thoroughly impressed the whole time.
When you host your wedding with Northern Haus, the team provides a recommended list of vendors to work with, which was very helpful. Professionalism was very important to us when picking vendors, so to know that Sara had a preferred list of vendors with proven track records really made our vendor selection process easy.
If you love Door County, or if you've never been and you want to fall in love with Door County, Northern Haus is the best venue and Sara and Megan are the best team to work with, hands down. I'm so sad our day is over, but I could not imagine it happening anywhere else but at Northern Haus. We can't wait to come back and visit again in the future.
Where to begin?! My husband and I had the pleasure of getting married at Northern Haus in October 2024, and we can't rave about our experience nearly enough! Door County is our favorite place, so before we even got engaged, we knew our wedding would be here. What we didn't know was how amazing our experience would be from start to finish.
From the moment we stepped into the venue, we fell in love with the space and were greeted with warmth and kindness upon meeting Megan and Sara. Throughout the planning process, the Northern Haus team was there for us every step and worked seamlessly with our wedding planner. Their expertise, referrals, quick communication, and professionalism were top-notch and tremendously helpful. We couldn't have done it without them!
Our guests are still raving about our wedding day, emphasizing how gorgeous Northern Haus is! It's the perfect backdrop, no matter what season or wedding vibe you're going for. We also really appreciated how accessible it is for all of our guests.
Megan, Sara, and Nick were all incredible on our wedding day. They accommodated our guests every need with grace and checked in on us often. They even hand-delivered us our signature drinks and a variety of appetizers! Nick was simply amazing behind the bar and provided quick and excellent service to our guests. We got rave reviews about the fun team behind the bar, they added a layer of joy to our day!
Overall, every aspect of our day and planning experience with Northern Haus exceeded our expectations. We feel so fortunate that we got to have our most special day in our favorite place. We can't wait to revisit and relive our wedding day for years to come!
We cannot thank Northern Haus enough for the incredible experience we had getting married in September 2025. Not only is the space absolutely stunning, but the planning and communication throughout the entire process made our wedding day truly perfect. The team was always quick and responsive to our many questions, which allowed us to plan everything on our own and incorporate many special, personalized touches. We relied heavily on the the recommended vendor list, which was a lifesaver in the planning process and every vendor was absolutely phenomenal. The Forest Retreat felt like something out of a fairy tale, cocktail hour on the lawn had such amazing energy, and the space was open, gorgeous, and the perfect blank canvas for our vision. We wanted a space that felt both elevated and relaxed, and Northern Haus delivered exactly that.
We worked with Northern Haus for day of coordination, which was the best decision. Megan was an absolute joy to work with. On the day of, she was calm, kind, organized, and direct—the perfect combination for managing all the logistics. She checked in with us throughout the day, coordinated vendors seamlessly, and helped adjust the schedule so everything aligned with our vision. Her calming presence allowed us to feel present and truly enjoy every moment. We also received so many compliments about how kind and professional the staff were.

Oh, Northern Haus! Where to even begin with you! A few years ago, my boyfriend (at the time) and I knew we wanted to get married in “our special place” of Door County. The only problem was, the perfect venue did not exist. Fast forward to 2019, and the venue of our dreams was born. After our engagement in 2021, the first part of our wedding we just knew was where it would be. We signed on the venue before even seeing it, and we are so happy we did. From that moment forward, Sara, Nick, and Megan have truly been a dream to work with. I’ve never met a more professional, kind, and helpful trio! From their superior preferred vendor list, to never ending accommodations, they made our wedding planning experience incredible from day one. I feel so lucky we were able to host our dream wedding at Northern House this past Memorial Day Weekend. Everything about the whole weekend was a dream come true, especially the venue. We enjoyed the most genuine and meaningful 30 minutes of our lives in the Forest Retreat…that is a part of the day we will cherish forever. Our guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside, followed by a beautiful reception inside. Every part of it was amazing, but the fact that we found a venue that truly had everything in one place was the Door County “cherry” on top of our special day. Sara, Nick, Megan, and Northern Haus…we just LOVE you! They have multiple weddings a season, a month, and a weekend, but they truly made us feel like their only bride & groom every step of the way. Choosing to get married at Northern Haus in June of 2023 was the easiest decision we made after we got engaged. We cannot say enough great things about the venue, experience and amazing team. Sara, Nick and Megan went above and beyond in accommodating our vision and making it come to life. When searching for a venue for our wedding, we were looking for something modern and neutral with a lot of natural light but also maintained the charm of Northern Door County we love so much. Northern Haus checked all of our boxes with the gorgeous minimal outdoor ceremony space, and a large high ceiling space to host our reception. We also love a built in 'plan b' ceremony space if the weather on our wedding day wasn't in our favor :) We were lucky enough to have Sara as our day of coordinator and she made the process easy which allowed us to truly enjoy planning but also feel like guests at our own wedding! During our planning process we utilized the carefully curated preferred vendor list which gave us a lot of amazing local vendor options to look into and help our wedding day come to life. We had a fabulous experience and getting married at Northern Haus was truly a dream. We cannot recommend this venue and team enough!
Northern Haus is the best!!! I could never accurately put into words how special this place is, but here goes nothing:
I grew up going to Door County each summer and always had a pipe dream of getting married here. When I got engaged in March 2022, I booked Northern Haus almost immediately without ever having seen it in person. There was something about its natural beauty that just made me know that it was where my husband and I were meant to get married.
I didn't actually see the venue in-person until the day before my wedding at my rehearsal, but you would have no idea because of the amazingly helpful owners, Sara and Nick, and staff, Megan, who helped you feel like a part of the Northern Haus family from the moment you first make contact with them. I worked with Sara and Megan extensively throughout the 16 or so months of my wedding planning, and they were the most knowledgeable, thoughtful, and patient people to work with. They helped me to understand the space, encouraged my ideas, and supported me through the millions of questions I had along the way. I also need to note how incredibly helpful Northern Haus’ preferred list of vendors is – I could not have planned our wedding from California without this list. We used so many of their preferred vendors and all of them exceeded our expectations!
On the day of the wedding, I would not have been able to be stress-free if it weren’t for Sara being my Day Of Coordinator. She felt like another friend to me that day – someone who was looking out for me and my happiness every step of the way. She also has an amazing ability to troubleshoot, but not involve you in anything that might cause you unnecessary stress. She made the day feel so incredibly smooth every step of the way. Some other highlights of the day included bar carts with beer and wine for our guests as they arrived for the ceremony, Sara’s truly unreal ability to read a weather forecast and figure out the perfect time for us to squeeze in our outdoor ceremony before it started to rain, the rainbow that came out after said rain (I know Northern Haus didn’t necessarily make the rainbow happen but also maybe they did? they’re that amazing), nonstop dancing during the reception, and so much more.
To put it simply, our wedding day was the best day of my life. I know people say this all the time, but I really feel that Northern Haus helped to ensure that it was the best day of my life. Sara, Nick, and Megan are all such amazing professionals who truly care about the happiness and success of their clients. If you are in search of truly a dream venue with the very best people, you can’t beat Northern Haus!
Northern Haus was truly the most beautiful spot for a wedding inside and outside. Every detail was immaculate. The views are breathtaking. Sara, Nick, Megan, and all the other staff were amazing to work with and made our day absolutely seamless. They made us feel special and made sure we enjoyed our day. Words cannot even begin to describe how amazing our wedding day was at Northern Haus. Sara, Nick, Megan and the whole team were a blessing to work with! We would get married a million times if it meant we had the opportunity to work with them again. It was sincerely the best day of our lives, from the stunning venue, the kind team, to the amazing service. Everyone told me that wedding planning would be stressful, but they took the stress away, and the day went so smoothly! At no point during the planning process did I feel any sense of worry or doubt, as Sara and Megan were so communicative and helpful from day one. Northern Haus provides a preferred vendor list for clients, and after booking with several of them, it’s easy to see why they are preferred. We felt so taken care of on the day – all of the staff were constantly checking in on us. Megan was so sweet throughout the day, always making sure we felt at home. Nick and the bar team were talented mixologists and the drinks were phenomenal – the amount of trips made to the bar by our guests made it apparent. Todd, our golf cart driver went above and beyond for both us and our guests and made sure that we rode back to the reception area in comfort (and style!) after family photos. We received so many compliments on how hospitable the team was, how beautiful the venue was and how much our guests enjoyed the day. Not to mention how gorgeous the forest retreat was where we had our ceremony, so spacious yet intimate at the same time. If we could give more than 5 stars, we would! Thank you, Northern Haus!
